Prescriber Supervisor
About the role:
The Medical Prescriber Supervisor provides clinical and operational oversight of agency prescribers and medication-support nursing staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality psychiatric medication services.
This position ensures compliance with regulatory standards, promotes trauma-responsive care consistent with the Sanctuary Model, reinforces documentation and productivity expectations, and maintains a limited direct-care caseload based on agency need.
This leadership role supports integrated service delivery within a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) environment and contributes to clinical excellence, workforce development, and organizational performance.
Responsibilities:
• Provide structured supervision and performance oversight for medical prescribers and medication clinic staff
• Maintain a limited client caseload for psychiatric evaluation and medication management
• Promote ethical prescribing, client safety, and integrated clinical care
• Provide direct supervision, coaching, and annual performance evaluations for prescribers and medication-support staff
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth
• Maintain a partial caseload as assigned by agency
• Monitor chart quality, documentation timeliness, and clinical accuracy
• Ensure adherence to evidence-based prescribing practices
• Conduct periodic chart audits and documentation reviews
• Monitor prescriber productivity metrics and scheduling standards
• Promote best practices in psychiatric medication management
• Assist with complex or high-risk clinical decision-making
• Support effective clinic flow and provider coverage
• Ensure adherence to state, federal, licensing, and grant regulations
• Maintain compliance with prescribing laws and payer requirements
• Ensure proper E&M coding and billing compliance
• Model and reinforce Sanctuary commitments
• Promote trauma-responsive engagement across medical services
• Support staff development aligned with Sanctuary principles
• Identify service gaps and opportunities for enhancement
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
• May require occasional travel between service sites
• Ability to sit, stand, and utilize computer systems for extended periods
Candidate requirements:
• Licensed medical provider in Oklahoma (DO, MD, NP, or PA-C) with current DEA registration in good standing
• Three (3) to five (5) years of direct supervisory experience overseeing prescribers or clinical staff
• Psychiatric experience or history of prescribing psychiatric medications strongly preferred
• Demonstrated commitment to serving diverse, underserved, and trauma-impacted populations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR systems)
