Meet Our Board of Directors
Leadership With Purpose

Counseling + Recovery Services, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is governed by a diverse and active volunteer Board of Directors.

Deneisha Johnson
Chair / The January Collective
As a child Deneisha was personally impacted by behavioral health issues – being raised by a parent with an undiagnosed illness. As a result, she has a strong passion for this area as an adult. After discussing the role she wanted to play within the Tulsa community with Wendy Thomas at Leadership Tulsa (LT), she was introduced to Counseling and Recovery Services of Oklahoma (CRSOK). As a member of Leadership TulsaT Class 62 in 2019, she began with CRSOK as a board intern. Deneisha currently serves as the Chair of the Board and Capital Campaign committee chair.
Deneisha was recognized in 2023 by the City of Tulsa and the YWCA as a Pinnacle Award honoree in Health & Wellness for her strong advocacy in the Tulsa community. “There has long since been a negative stigma surrounding mental health in the Black community and more strongly amongst Black women. I want to be part of the solution that normalizes assistance for healthy living and stability.”
A native of Fort Worth, TX Deneisha is a proud graduate of Langston University and has an MBA from Northeastern State University. She has served in a volunteer capacity for the Child Abuse Network (CAN), Domestic Violence Intervention Services (DVIS), and Resonance. She is the founder and CEO of The January Collective, which allows Deneisha to leverage her years of corporate experience in Finance and Project Management along with nonprofit consulting and board leadership into helping nonprofit organizations with fundraising and community engagement.
