New Partnership and Program
Counseling + Recovery Services and John 3:16 Mission

[Tulsa, OK] – Counseling + Recovery Services (CRS) and John 3:16 Mission are excited to announce the launch of the new Momentum program and partnership. This marks a new chapter in our shared commitment to providing comprehensive, compassionate support for individuals experiencing homelessness who are seeking help with their behavioral health, physical health, and shelter needs. Together, we aim to remove barriers to care and create pathways toward stability, healing, and hope.
Counseling + Recovery Services | John 3:16 Mission
Counseling + Recovery Services is private, nonprofit Certified Community Behavioral Health Center (CCBHC), contracting with the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services to provide services to indigent, uninsured/underinsured, and insured individuals and families who are experiencing serious mental illness or severe emotional disturbance. The mission of CRS is building better lives for individuals and families living with behavioral health and substance use challenges. As a CCBHC, CRS offers services to adults, children, and families, including therapy and case management for children and adults, physician visits for physical health screening and monitoring, medication management with an on-site pharmacy, wellness groups, youth crisis services through CALM Center and YES Tulsa, and a satellite office in Sand Springs. Programs serve Tulsa and the surrounding communities.
John 3:16 Mission strives to meet the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs to at-risk Tulsans by providing emergency overnight shelter, residential recovery programs, youth intervention, grocery support for families, free household items, etc. The mission of John 3:16 is to reclaim lives and restore hope to homeless and at-risk men, women, and children as it ministers to their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs. Since its opening, John 3:16 has earned a reputation as one of Tulsa’s most trusted and effective ministries to Tulsans struggling with hunger, poverty, and homelessness.
Momentum Program
The new Momentum Program was designed as an answer to the ever-present crisis of those experiencing homelessness. The Momentum Program provides behavioral health and substance use disorder services and shelter to men aged 20+. Eligible CRS clients receive services like therapy and medication management and are offered a warm place to stay for up to three months. Respectively, interested John 3:16 clients are offered behavioral health and substance use disorder services through Counseling + Recovery Services.
“The Momentum program will offer a reprieve to men we see by not only helping with behavioral health and substance use issues, but by setting them up for success with a short-term shelter in place,” said Counseling + Recovery Services’ Clinical Director, Andre Campbell. “This program is one of a kind in Tulsa, and will prove to help break the cycle of homelessness by providing services, life and coping skills, and a safe place to stay.”
The Momentum Program is a first step in the fight against homelessness in the area. According to the latest Point-in-Time count conducted in January 2025, Tulsa has 1,449 individuals experiencing homelessness, a 4% increase over the past few years. This initiative aims to help clients eventually move into long-term or permanent housing, while continuing their sobriety and healing journey.
Hunter Telford, Director of Guest Services at John 3:16 Mission said, “This partnership marks the beginning of a new way of helping our fellow Tulsans with multiple services. Nonprofits like John 3:16 and CRS coming together to provide services to our community is so much better than just one organization providing only services in their wheelhouse. We all bring different strengths to the table, let’s work together to help those in need.”
