Mark’s Scholarship Program
This scholarship was established in 2010 in recognition of dedicated service to the Counseling & Recovery Services of Oklahoma by Larry Marks, MSW, MBA, in his 18 years as Executive Director. During his leadership, Counseling & Recovery Services experienced rapid growth and added services like Wraparound Tulsa and the CALM Center.
The initial funds for this scholarship were generously donated by staff, board members and friends of the agency to commemorate Larry’s retirement. Larry’s career focused on improving the lives of others through mental health services, nonprofit leadership, teaching and mentoring. He was honored by the Mental Health Association Oklahoma for his contributions to the field of mental health.
Purpose
The purpose of this scholarship is to offer financial assistance to Counseling & Recovery Services of Oklahoma clients to enhance learning and foster recovery. It is available for individuals to attend educational and personal growth opportunities such as seminars, workshops, classes and other resources intended to promote work-related skills and life enrichment.
Eligibility
Each applicant for this scholarship must be currently receiving services from
Criteria
Applicants will be selected based upon financial need and the value-added to their lives from the educational experience.
Application
Each application will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee.
The total application includes:
- Larry Mark’s Scholarship application form
- A letter of recommendation from an agency staff member or agency physician

Process
The Scholarship Committee considers all applications, awards funds and notifies the recipients in writing. Payment is made directly to the program or school.
