Meet Our Board of Directors

Leadership With Purpose

Counseling + Recovery Services, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is governed by a diverse and active volunteer Board of Directors.

Mo O’Connor
Member

Mo O’Connor began learning about mental health struggles as a young boy, through interesting and sometimes confusing discussions with his mother. When Mo was in high school, he finally learned what his mother’s condition was all along … paranoid schizophrenia. Learning about his mom’s condition helped Mo understand, connect with and love his mother every day for the next three decades until she passed away as a happy Mama and Grandma.

Over the decades, Mo spent time connecting with and helping other family members, friends and coworkers who had serious struggles with substance abuse, depression and suicidal thoughts.

When Mo heard about a potential volunteer opening on the Board for Counseling & Recovery Services of Oklahoma (CRSOK), he immediately asked for an opportunity to interview for the position. The reason? The CRSOK mission connected with Mo on a deep level: “Building better lives for individuals and families living with behavioral health and substance use challenges.”

Mo has been on the CRSOK Board since 2025, and he enjoys meeting employees and leaders and thanking them for making a positive difference in our community. Each young person or adult who struggles with addiction and/or mental health, who spends time with a CRSOK employee or medical professional, represents a life improved, and potentially a life saved. CRSOK has a wonderful way of helping people in need.

Mo enjoys outdoor activities with his young daughter, such as fishing, hiking, camping, off-roading and photographing amphibians, reptiles and furry creatures in the forest.
