Hundreds of people attended the Zombie Outbreak Run Saturday at Chandler Park with 172 people participating in the run.
Co-chairs Jonathan and Margaret Wish said they were amazed by the turnout. About 60 people registered on the day of the race. Sponsors included Hex House, Runners World, Tulsa Wealth Advisors Raymond James, Stanfield & O’Dell, and Sundance Office. All proceeds will benefit our agency.
Volunteers from sponsor Paul Mitchell The School Tulsa and Hex House turned dozens of ordinary Tulsa area residents into zombies who hid in the park’s wooded areas and Lost City Trail to steal life flags from the 172 runners. Survivors provided water to thirsty runners along the way.
Professional photographer Jenny Thomas donated her time to photograph the event. We will provide a link to photos soon.
Thanks to everyone who sponsored and participated and to local media including KTUL Good Day Tulsa, News on 6 at Noon, and the Tulsa World for letting people know about the event.
