Labor Day Weekend is coming. It’s a great time to travel, experience new things, improve your happiness, health and productivity.
Need an incentive to get going? People who travel on vacations also are more likely to get a promotion, according to the State of American Vacation 2018.
Did you know people who travel on vacations also experience more happiness than those of us who take staycations?
“Americans taking all or most of their vacation days to travel—or mega-travelers—report dramatically higher rates of happiness than those using little to none of their time for travel—or homebodies,” according to the report.
The study shows half of employees do not use all their vacation time. Some employees and employers see this as positive, but the opposite is true.
“Employees who feel supported in taking vacation are happier with their job, company, relationships, and health, allowing them to bring their best selves to the job when they are on the clock,” according to the report.
While some studies say the ideal vacation length is eight days, others say it is the quality of the time off. The best vacation is one that you and your loved ones enjoy.
Whatever your plans, all of us at Counseling & Recovery Services hope you enjoy Labor Day Weekend.
