Recovery Starts Here

Nancy Haase

Hello, my name is Nancy Haase and I joined Counseling and Recovery Services as a board intern through Leadership Tulsa Class 56 in 2016. I chose Counseling & Recovery Services because I have had five family members and close friends deal with mental health issues and/or substance abuse. Of the five, four received treatment and support from professionals and the care of family, friends and support groups. The fifth person, although she worked in the medical profession as a registered nurse, was unable to get the help she needed and took her own life. And, these are only the ones that I know about. I am sure many others that I know simply haven’t shared their pain or that of their loved ones.

These individuals had the financial, spiritual, and family resources they needed. In fact, most of the people I know would be able to get the help they need. What about those that don’t have resources? Or simply don’t know where to go? That is why I continue to serve today on the board. The work that Counseling and Recovery Services does every day is so important because, whether I want to think about it or not, mental health and substance abuse issues impact people that I know every single day.

In my professional life, I am a partner with New York Life. I have been with the company for ten years and enjoy the opportunity to educate people about ways they can build and protect their financial resources. I am able to do this by building a team of caring professionals who truly value the role they play in their clients’ financial well being.

I also volunteer at the Tristesse Grief Center’s Camp Erin every summer and have recently become a member of the American Heart Association Go Red for Women organization.
My husband Richard and I love to explore Tulsa and all of the amazing things this town has to offer. I have 4 children and 8 grandchildren and love spending time with my family. I also like to cook, read, and travel in my spare time.
