Leadership Tulsa members donated $620 and 200 gifts during their annual holiday party to make Christmas possible for clients of Counseling & Recovery Services of Oklahoma.
Many adult gifts were necessities like food, self-care, hygiene and household items. Food will go into blizzard bags for adult housing clients. Donated brooms, mops, towels and cleaning supplies also will go to adults housing clients who came to the agency after being hospitalized or homeless. They need everything to begin housekeeping.
Children’s gifts will help families financially unable to provide gifts for their children. One family with three boys, ages 4-10, did not apply for assistance but found they were unable to buy gifts as Christmas approached. This is one of many families receiving services at Counseling and Recovery Services to benefit from the generous gifts of Leadership Tulsa members.
All the art supplies will go to the CALM Center where youth use art to express their feelings and for recreation. The CALM Center, a crisis stabilization facility for ages 10-17, is open 365 days a year. The art supplies will brighten the holidays for youth at the center.
